Course Description

This one-day workshop will provide a thorough discussion on the Implementation Guidelines and Best Practices for the Audit and Certification of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Patient Safety in Healthcare Services in accordance with the new version of ISO 9001:2015 BS EN 15224:2016. BS EN 15224 is the specialized ISO 9001:2015 for Healthcare.

Started in 2012, SN/DIN EN 15224 System was implemented as the European standard for Quality Management Systems in Healthcare Services, which focuses on Risk Management principles and aims at the implementation of specific requirements in order to meet the specialized needs and operational conditions of the healthcare providers (hospitals and clinics, diagnostic centers, etc.) and specialized units (including assisted reproductive units –IVF clinics, dental facilities and clinics, rehabilitation and recovery centers, etc.), setting as primary goals, the patients’ safety and enhancement of quality in care.

Course Objectives

Participants will acquire basic knowledge and skills regarding the following major issues:

  • Understanding the principles and methodology of the international standards and application of DIN/BS/EN 15224 standards for healthcare services
  • Differentiation and Comparison to ISO 9001:2015
  • Recognition and effective management of patient safety risks along with the operational risk in healthcare organizations – its Impact to the National Healthcare Systems
  • Implementation and evaluation of quality procedures in healthcare for the prevention of errors and adverse incidents
  • Evaluation and strengthening/enhancement of clinical efficacy
  • Continuous improvement of clinical performance
  • Prevention against graft and corruption through an effective leadership and governance
